I'm privileged to have the chance to speak on behalf of my class here.As people are becoming more aware of the need to protect the environment，sustainable development has become an irreversible trend.
While nearly everything we do in modern lives requires use of the Earth's natural resources，they do have many disadvantages.They are non-renewable and burning fuels can be harmful to the environment.That's why people are pushing for the use of alternative energy sources.
Alternative energy sources，including solar energy，wind energy and hydroelectricity，can be used without running out.On top of this，they are environment-friendly and beneficial to the lives of our children and grandchildren.
