The teacher that has changed my life I have been lucky to have had many wonderful teachers in my life. However, the one that really stands out is Karl Chip.I first met him as a senior in high school when I was deciding where to go to college. He was the self-appointed athletic recruiter (招募人员) for Wellesley College.
Chip guided several types of us "kids".There was the "academic star type",who just needed a little guidance. The "international transplant type",who came from across oceans and mountains to this New England world and needed a life guide. The "geniuses of economics type",for whom he ensured letters of recommendation and jobs held in the most famous places. And finally, the "scratch and dent kids".You know, the kids who came to Wellesley with some baggage. They are full of potential, but have trouble with their decision-making.And if you were a "scratch and dent kid",and also happened to be an athlete, you would have no choice but to come within Chip's orbit.
I was one of Chip's "kids",a "scratch and dent kid",but all his kids, regardless of the "type",received the same wisdom, love, comfort and attention. My story is just one of hundreds of examples of Chip's influence on his students.
Twenty-seven years ago, when I entered Wellesley College,I was an immature athlete and lacked self-confidence.By the time I graduated,I was full of self-confidence — and as a result, probably a much better person.I owe much of my growth to Chip and his devotion to me and the other kids.
How did that happen? One part was athletics. The legend (传奇) of Chip's basketball team of the 1990s is the story of a team that during the 1989-1990 season experienced two wins and twenty losses.Just two years later, thanks in large part to Chip's encouragement and faith in our ability,we won an influential championship, and our record for the year was twenty-four wins and just two losses.

The other part was academics.
Chip passed away after a long illness last year.
【答案】Paragraph 1
The other part was academics. At the end of my first year at Wellesley College,I fell far behind the others, thus completely losing confidence in myself.I felt as if I was thrown into a hopeless world and even had an impulse to drop out. However, with constant encouragement from Chip,I gradually restored self-confidence and proceeded to work as hard as I could.Eventually my hard work paid off.In my senior year I ended up winning a scholarship, which was really beyond my wildest dreams.
Paragraph 2
Chip passed away after a long illness last year.A large number of his "kids" came together to mourn for him.We celebrated his life and his influence on us.We knew too well that without his encouragement and his love,we wouldn't have become what we were.He left us the greatest gift -helping us believe in ourselves, which we will carry with us forever.I'm grateful that I fell within Chip's orbit and will ways be grateful for my experience as one of his "kids".

I grew up in a poor family with six brothers, three sisters,my father and mother. We had little money and few goods, but plenty of love and attention.I was happy and energetic.I understood that no matter how poor a person was,he could still afford a dream.
My dream was athletics.By the time I was sixteen,I could throw a ninety-mile-per-hour fastball and hit anything moving on the football field. And I was so lucky that my high-school coach was Ollie Jarvis, who not only believed in me,but often told me "Dream is priceless".However, when I was about to get off the ground, one particular incident happened, which almost ruined my long-held dream.
It was the summer holiday in senior two and a friend recommended me for a summer job.I was offered ﹩12.25 per hour.Compared with the average ﹩3.5,that was a big sum.I was so excited, because this meant a chance for money in my pocket, certainly money for a new bike and new clothes, and the start of savings for a house for my mojye.air.The prospect(前景)of the job was inviting, and I wanted to jump at the opportunity.
Then I realized I would have to give up summer baseball training to handle the work schedule.I didn't dare to tell my coach,I thought of the advice my mother often gave me when I lacked courage, "If you make your bed,you have to lie in it. "I decided to talk to my coach in person. After all,my dream of buying my mom a house and having money in my pocket was worth facing his disappointment to me.

2.Jenny was the only child in her home. She had a quarrel with her mother that afternoon and she ran out of the house angrily.
She couldn't help weeping sorrowfully when she thought of the scolding from her mother.Having wandered aimlessly in the street for hours, she felt a little hungry and wished for something to eat,but it was not even possible for her, since she had nothing with her.She stood beside a stand for a while, watching the middle-aged seller busy doing his business. However, with no money in hand, she sighed and had to leave.
The seller behind the stand noticed the young girl and asked, "Hey,girl, you want to have the noodles?
"Oh,yes…,but I don't have money on me…" she replied.
"That's nothing.I'll treat you today," said the man. "Come in."
The seller brought her a bowl of noodles, whose smell was so attractive.
As she was eating,Jenny cried silently.
"What is it?" asked the man kindly.
"Nothing, actually I was just touched by your kindness!" said Jenny as she wiped her tears. "Even a stranger on the street will give me a bowl of noodles, while my mother, drove me out of the house. She showed no care for me.She is so merciless compared to a stranger!!"
Hearing the words, the seller smiled, "Girl,do you really think so?I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you thanked me a lot.But it is your mother who has raised you since you were a baby. Can you number the times she cooked for you?Have you expressed your gratitude to her?"
Jenny sat there, speechless and numb with shock?she remembered Mother's familiar face and weathered hands. "Why did I not think of that?A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel indebted, but I have never thanked my mum for what she has done for me."
On the way home,Jenny made up her mind to make an apology to her mother for her rudeness as soon as she arrived home.

3. One day, when I was a first-year student in high school,I saw a kid from my class walking home from school. His name was Kris.It looked like he was carrying all of his books.I thought to myself,"Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd(书呆子)."
I had quite a weekend planned(parties and a football game with my friends),so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.As I was walking,I saw a gang of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.He looked up,and I saw terrible sadness in his eyes.
My heart went out to him.So I jogged over to him,and as he crawled around looking for his glasses,I saw tears in his eyes.As I handed him his glasses,I said,"They are bad guys! They really should be punished."He looked at me and said,"Hey,thanks!"There was a big smile on his face.It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.
I helped him pick up his books and asked him where he lived. As it turned out,he lived near me,so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to a private school before.I would have never hung out with a private school kid before, but we talked all the way home, and I carried his books.
