Dating back to over 2，000 years ago，the festival is celebrated in memory of Qu Yuan，who threw himself into a river to oppose the emperor's corruption．Over the years，the story of Qu's has been transformed into the two main traditions：racing dragon boats which need great team spirit and eating zongzi-a kind of pyramid-shaped rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves．
