"I didn't want to go to a city，" she said.Mead is a small town，so it was great for her.What did she notice first in America？ "Everything was bigger，" she said. "The houses，the schools and the shops." Gina found school life difficult at first. "The classes in my school were very big and I knew nobody.And everything was in English.I couldn't speak English well.When I talked with others in English，I felt a little afraid.But the teachers were excellent and the students were all really friendly.They soon made me feel at home，" she said.
  Did anything surprise her？ "I thought the food was terrible，" Gina said.But my host family （房东） enjoyed cooking，so in fact，it was really nice."
