Obviously, most people who try to lose weight generally focus all or most of their attention on the foods they eat.But what about their behaviour? Are there habits they could be breaking that would also help them lose weight?
According to the Ohio State University Extension, which summarised the findings, the researchers learned people who routinely ate breakfasts, lunches, and dinners tended to have more success losing weight than people whose eating schedules were irregular. As a bonus, they were also more likely to eat a larger quantity of fruit and vegetables.
One activity that brought a disaster to people who wanted to lose weight was watching television, particularly if they ate while watching TV-and especially if they ate while watching TV after 7 p.m.People who did these things, including simply watching a lot of television, tended to have a higher body mass index (BMI),as well as a higher intake of fat and sugars.
Those who ate out a lot also tended to take in more fat and sugars, while eating a smaller quantity of fruit and vegetables. For the purpose of the study, eating away from home was defined not only as eating in restaurants but also eating food provided by an employer, eating food provided by colleagues at work, and buying food at convenience stores or gas stations.
Finally, the best results were achieved by those motivated people who kept written track of the amount and type of exercise they did and how many calories they ate,who planned meals, and used meal replacements. Those who did these things the most generally lost more weight, ate less fat and fewer sugars, ate more fruit and vegetables, and engaged in more physical activities.

Math had never been something I was good at since middle school.Classes became harder in high school, and I was even further from a math teacher's dream student. So at the start of my freshman year,I had an
aversion
to math.It wasn't that I didn't want to do well, but simply that I didn't think I was able to do well. "I can't" became my state of mind in all things related to math.
However,I was soon to learn that "I can't" was not a choice in Mr.A's class.Mr.A always greeted us with open arms as he said, "Welcome!Smile! It's a great day to be alive!" It was clear that Mr.A had a true passion not only for math but for teaching. If Mr.A ever experienced had days in life,he never showed it.Mr.A greeted us with that same smile every day.He encouraged each student, from the top achiever to the "I can't" student.
I found myself looking forward to math class, although I still hated the subject itself.Being in Mr.A's presence made me feel good,as if I had the chance to succeed. As the year progressed,I spent increasingly more time on my homework, and I met with Mr.A weekly. My classmates began to do the same, and it became "cool" to have lunch and talk with Mr.A.We didn't know it at the time, but he was changing our attitudes.
Though my story is not one of overnight success and I didn't become a straight-A math student,my hard work did begin to pay off and my grades slowly began to climb. There were hard times,of course.Difficult math questions sometimes succeeded in bringing me down, but Mr.A kept reminding me, "Kate, smile! It's a great day to be alive!"
(1)What does the underlined word "aversion" in paragraph 1 mean?
A.Interest.
B.Responsibility.
C.Dislike.
D.Misunderstanding.
(2)What first made the author look forward to math class?
A.Mr.A's attitude.
B.Her interest in math.
C.Her friends' encouragement.
D.the top achievers in her class.
(3)How did the author feel about her talk over lunch with Mr.A?
A.It was straight.
B.It was awkward.
C.It was challenging.
D.It was impressive.
(4)How did the author change in math?
A.She made slow progress.
B.She fell in love with math.
C.She became a straight-A math student.
D.She became comfortable with hard math questions.

The Internet plays a big part in human life.We use it for work and pleasure. We use it to learn a new language. We find advice on it.We use it to connect with family and friends. We use it to stay in touch with events we care about. The list goes on and on.
As far as the Internet being a part of our lives,- well,
that train has left the station
.There is no going back to an Internet-free life. But can using the Internet too much be bad for our health? It might be,say researchers.A new study finds that heavy Internet use may be connected to high blood pressure in a young group:teenagers.
The study results show that teens who spend at least 14 hours a week only online may cause high blood pressure, which makes your heart and blood vessels(血管)work too hard.Over time, this extra pressure increases your risk of a heart attack.High blood pressure can also cause heart and other diseases.
The Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit,Michigan did the study.335 young people, from 14 to 17 years old, took part in it.134 of the teens were described as "heavy Internet users".And researchers found that out of these 134 teens,26 had high blood pressure. The researchers say the study is the first to connect heavy web use with high blood pressure.
The lead researcher is Andrea Cassidy Bushrow. She said,"Using the Internet is part of our daily life, but it shouldn't ruin us." Ms.Cassidy Bushrow adds that it is important for teens to stop to have a rest regularly from their computers or smartphones and do some kind of physical activity. She also suggests that parents shouldn't let their children use the Internet for more than two hours a day, five days a week.

Millions of highly polluting used cars from rich countries are being" dumped" on developing nations, according to a UN report.Between 2015 and 2018,some 14 million older, poor quality vehicles were exported(出口) from Europe,Japan and the US.Four out of five were sold to poorer countries, with more than half going to Africa.
Experts say that up to 80% failed to meet-minimum safety and environmental standards in exporting countries. As well as causing accidents, these cars make air pollution worse and contribute heavily to climate change. Many of the vehicles have also been tampered with(篡改) to remove valuable parts.
The report, published by the UN Environment Programme (Unep),says that both exporters and importers need to put tougher regulations (rules) in place to
stem
the flow of these cars.Car ownership is booming(繁荣) all over the world with an estimated 1.4 billion vehicles on the roads,a number that's expected to reach around two billion by 2040.Much of that growth is happening in developing countries in Asia,Africa and Latin America.
A second study on the issue,by the Netherlands Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate, shows that many cars and vans shipped from Dutch ports to Africa are outdated and contribute to worsening air quality on the continent.According to the authors,
these cars are both "dangerous and dirty." They believe these imports are responsible for increased levels of road accidents in many poorer African and Asian countries.
The growing realization of the dangers posed by these cars has seen several importing countries strengthen their regulations.Morocco only permits cars less than five years old to be imported.Kenya also has an age limit of eight years for imported cars.On a regional level, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS),representing15 countries, has set cleaner fuel and vehicle standards from January 2021.
But to really deal with the issue will require action at both ends of the supply chain. "On one hand,I think it's unethical(不道德的) that these developed countries export vehicles that are not roadworthy on their own roads," said Rob de Jong, one author." On the other hand, why have the importing countries been waiting so long to put in place some minimum standards? So I think the responsibility is not only on the exporting country,it's really a joint responsibility."
(1)What problems do the "dumped" cars cause to developing countries?
A.Car ownership is booming in these countries.
B.These countries are becoming poorer and poorer.
C.They worsen the air quality and lead to road accidents.
D.These countries have to make rules to handle climate change.
(2)The underlined word "stem" in paragraph 3 might mean
A.stop
B.increase
C.lead
D.distract
(3)To handle the problem,Rob de Jong suggests that
A.importing countries strengthen their regulations
B.exporting countries get punished for their behavior
C.both exporting and importing countries take action
D.limit be set on the age of the imported cars
(4)What's the main idea of this passage?
A.Many used cars are exported to poor countries, which calls for action.
B.Developing countries are very weak in dealing with the import of used cars.
C.It's selfish for developed countries to export vehicles that are not roadworthy on their own roads.
D.Used cars contribute heavily to air pollution and climate change in poor countries.
