3.When Merle was a child,she was often sick.To get stronger,she took up swimming.Soon,she was taking part in open-water swimming competition.Merle moved to Florida 12 years ago,but she continued to swim in the ocean.One day during training,she almost swallowed(吞) some floating plastic waste.This made her think of the sea animals.She decided to do something to let people see this serious problem.
