2.My husband jokes with me that my middle crisis is having my now 11-year-old daughter in my 40s.
I started my career as the associate editor(副编辑) at Woman's World magazine in the late 1990s.Then I was a magazine editor-in-chief for five national consumer publications and also contributed 10 magazines like Longevity and New Woman.
Four years after getting married in 2005,I eventually gave birth to my daughter,Crystal. As I wrote online, "As the doctor checked her vital organs and my husband counted her 10 perfect fingers and toes,I realized that my body had produced a wonder".
While my peers were dealing with the stresses of kids in school,I focused my creative energy on carving out my new identity.I was excited when I was offered a "Mom's Talk" column where I wrote about toys, breastfeeding, and my pursuit for "baby-free" time.
When Crystal was 3 years old,I wrote an essay about watching her dance at a toddler(学步的小孩) reading group in the library, instead of sitting down with the other children.I expected her performance to annoy people, but her joyful dancing attracted them and made me consider my own possibilities.
"Had I ever been that way,I wondered. If so,could I be like that again?Could I become as free as a child with her whole life ahead of her, ready and willing to be the star of her own production?"
As my daughter transformed from a toddler into a young girl, she continued to be my inspiration.I wrote about the new rules for babysitting and shared research showing that fathers who participated in housework had a positive impact on their daughter's future success on The Washington Post.
I focused on providing Crystal with resilience(韧性) building when she neared her teens.I wrote about powerful phrases on The Week, like "no one is the judge of your self-worth".
As my daughter continues to grow during this messy time, there is one certainty:I will continue to tell my stories, through the eyes of my midlife wisdom.I can't wait to see her next chapter — and for you to read mine.

3.Whether you're interested in green agriculture and rainforest conservation or supporting sustainable sources, organizations worldwide are investing time and effort into various environmental protection projects.Volunteers are always needed to help with the different initiatives to protect the environment.
The past years have been bothered by an endless report of natural disasters occurring in geographically weak locations.Floods are affecting the places that previously never faced this problem while heat waves, droughts and earthquakes are becoming the norm(常态).Important wildlife and plant species are disappearing and threatening the planet's biodiversity.According to the World Wildlife Fund(WWF),there are other problems:deforestation(毁林),pollution, water scarcity, illegal fishing and wildlife trade.
The ongoing industrialization and the lack of awareness are taking its toll(毁坏)and it's time for that to change. Most people remain inactive, believing small changes won't make a difference. However, there are many ways to help.Small changes carried out by some people do make a difference.
Excellent examples of this are organizations that believe small initiatives have a significant impact. These projects are growing steadily and positively affecting the environmental conservation and influencing the local community. They are creating awareness among others and helping them understand the importance of environmental conservation while creating volunteer opportunities to help the environment.
The organizations will learn valuable skills about environmental conservation but most importantly, they are moving towards change. There are enough environmental volunteer opportunities that need your help and there's no time to waste!Continue reading about environmental volunteer programs abroad and take steps toward environmental conservation.

9."Why she let out my secret?why she did that to me?" I vividly remembered that day when I was confused at the knowing looks which everyone gave me.That terrible experience was impressed on my mind.I couldn't forgive the person with whom I had shared my secret. She lost all my trust and friendship.
Five years back,Sally was a new addition in our class.I don't know what but there was something sticky about her that attracted me towards her.She was the most friendly person I knew.We started as classmates but after a few months we were like best friends. We did homework together and dreamed of going to the same university one day.We hung out and went to the movies on weekends. That was a sweet time.
Nevertheless,I couldn't expect such an enormous betrayal from her.I didn't know what made me tell Sally about my personal life.I felt much regret to myself. She exaggerated(夸大)the matter, added her own spices to it and made it the hottest topic in school. It was like someone had stabbed a knife in my back. After she revealed my secret, everyone at school started laughing at me and gazing at me wherever I passed.I was like a pond in which someone had thrown a stone and it had been spilled up.It was the most embarrassing time I had gone through.Soon afterwards,I left school and shifted to another one, because I thought no one had the right to laugh at me.Sally called me many times but I didn't answer. My heart was broken because the person whom I trusted most cheated me.
I made efforts to remove the scar from my heart.I started a new life, leaving all the bad memories behind, because they made me a person who often thought about the past experiences.Five years later, with the life going on,I made new friends and seldom thought about the past.
