19．Being a 12-year-old girl is hard，and being a 12-year-old girl who has trouble in learning math makes it even harder.
I was standing in front of my mom with my unfinished math homework in my hand，feeling like I was standing in front of a roadblock （路障） that was taller than my imagination.
"I can't do it，Mom!I don't understand it!" Although I couldn't see clearly through my teary eyes，I could still feel my mom's face was filled with concern.
"It's okay.I understand it's hard.You know that 1 struggled with the same issue before，but it can't decide who you are or how smart you are!Now repeat after me!" Mom said in a kind but demanding voice，"I did it!" She waited for me to follow her.When I tried to speak，the only thing that escaped my mouth was a small sob（抽噎）.With one strong loving arm around me，my mom used the other hand to dry the tears that I was no longer able to control.
"Can I see your homework，honey？" As instructed，I slowly handed over the paper.After a short while，she excitedly announced，"You got the fifth question right!" Shrugging（耸肩）my shoulders，I replied，"Yeah，but the rest are probably wrong." Mom smiled， "Although you got some answers wrong，it doesn't make the answer you got right any less important!"
I wanted to believe her.It was almost easy to let her positive words affect me in the moments when it was just her and me.However，every time I was sitting next to the kids of my age and watching them complete work that I couldn't understand，the confidence my mom gave me seemed to disappear suddenly.
