  • 63.I moved to the United States as a teenager. The adjustment to a new place was difficult. But there was major stress in my life at that time:I was the only member of my family who spoke English, meaning I had to step up when we dealt with a shop assistant,a waiter and so on.However, there was another universal language I loved to learn as a child:art.
Although I connected myself with drawing and painting while in school,I mostly dismissed art as a path to a career.Since my dad always said "Think about the future",I did not think he would support the study of art once I went to college. But,to my surprise,it was my parents who suggested just that and urged me to apply to technical and liberal arts schools.
I was admitted into industrial design. It's basically to design products and services.I could be doing something more technical or something more related to problem-solving.It was no easy task to do the course including metal-working,woodworking and model makjye.aig.In one class I just drew cubes for an entire month, which led me to a question:"Wow!Do I really want to do this?" But I finally survived the course.
Now I am a design strategist for Marshall Moya Design,a famous architecture and interior design company.I have experience in exhibit design, product design and website design, apart from which I enjoy developing public art in my free time.
Throughout my career,I've picked up different things along the way.The best way to learn in my opinion is through working, therefore, get as many projects as you can.Industrial design kind of makes you an all-round person.

What time do you start work?Do you prefer a leisurely start to the day,or are you an early bird who likes to get going at the crack of dawn?
At one computer programming company in the US you have no such choice.Work begins at the same oddly specific time every day-9:06 am.
In contrast to a more conventional 9 am kick-off,employees in Pivotal Software's 20 offices around the globe have to be at work and ready to go precisely six minutes later.
At that time a cowbell is rung and employees gather for a brief stand-up meeting. After that it's a long time to work, with no other meetings or distractions throughout the working day. They focus on working until 6 pm sharp,at which point everybody stops working.
So what's the reason behind this unique timekeeping?Company CEO Rob Mee explains it's about making his team of computer programmers as efficient as possible.
"I realized that programmers,if left to their own devices, may roll in at 10 am," he says.
"We thought that if we made it 9 am,developers prepare themselves for the day would think,'Well if it is 9 am I'll be late.'"
He needed a little more extra time, but a starting time of 9:05 am felt too rigidly precise-whereas 9:06 am seemed "fun".
Mr Mee was also thinking of their stomachs.Lazier programmers who turned up around 10:00 am would also often have missed breakfast. This meant they would be hungry by 11:00 am and take an early lunch, leaving them with an endlessly long working afternoon ahead. So he decided to provide breakfast as an extra incentive(激励)to get in to the office on time.
The company's approach to punctuality may seem boring, but Pivotal Software is in fact a highly successful company, valued at 20 billion RMB.And Pivotal is not alone:Silicon Valley has long been associated with an alternative working culture.Google has "nap pods" and meditation classes, while Netflix offers a year's paid parental leave(亲子假).

"Usual boring day!" This would be the answer from Roman if somebody asked him how his day was. These days he found everything boring, nothing excited him.
One day he was lying in his room as usual.Suddenly light went off.His room was rather hot without an air conditioner.Though he did not want to leave his room,he had to.Unwillingly,he left his room and came to living room.Living room was slightly cool as it had two huge windows.
His young brother was playing with his friend. They were rolling on the floor. He was looking out for the TV remote, but couldn't find.He got up and searched it everywhere, but remote was nowjye.aire.He looked at his brother who was still lying on the floor playing.
He asked him, "Where is the remote?"
"Under the Sofa!" his brother yelled.
He tried to look through, but it was dark.He put his hand under the sofa.He touched something, grabbed it and took his hand out.OMG!It was a snake in his hand!
After seeing that his brother started to yell,"Snake, snake!" Mom came as soon as she heard their shouting. She too was horrified to see a snake. She was so scared that she even couldn't speak a word. Two kids were trying to hide into each other's back. "What an old trick!" Roman thought and threw it over kids.
As the snake landed on the floor near to the kids,it started moving from left side to the right.Only then did Roman realize that the snake was real, not a toy.He threw the snake over kids because he thought it was a fake snake and kids were playing some tricks.
This time mom almost got heart attack. Now he was scared too.The snake was only 10 meters away from kids and was staring at kids. They even couldn't call a rescue team. There might be some deadly damage before their arrival. There was not much time to think. It was the time for a quick action.
    Paragraph 1:
As Roman was farther from the snake,he jumped to the window and grabbed the curtain._______
    Paragraph 2:
After the rescue team caught and took the snake away, everyone went inside the home.________
